MARKUS KLINKO

Markus Klinko is an award-winning international fashion and celebrity photographer and director who has captured some of the most iconic figures in film, music, and fashion, including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell, and Iman. His editorial work has appeared in Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, and Interview, while brands such as Lancôme, L'Oréal Paris, Nike, and Hugo Boss have commissioned him for global campaigns. Notably, his campaign for Keep A Child Alive raised over $1 million in just three days.

Born in Switzerland to French, Italian, and Hungarian parents, Markus first trained as a classical harp soloist, studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and signing with EMI Classics. After an acclaimed international career in music, a hand injury led him to shift paths toward fashion photography.

Discovered by Isabella Blow and supported by Ingrid Sischy, Markus quickly rose to prominence, photographing stars such as Iman and David Bowie for books and album covers, including Beyoncé’s Dangerously in Love and Mariah Carey’s The Emancipation of Mimi. His celebrity portraits are collected in his book ICONS, which has been exhibited at Lincoln Center, the Opera Gallery in Monaco, and the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, among others.
