Information: For the past two years, Edouard has explored the theme of collapse, first presenting his raw stone sculptures in 2020. Everyday objects and luxury items, fossilized in stone, become witnesses of a society driven to the peak of hyper-consumerism and disposability.
Through his Fossil Sculptures, Edouard questions ecological peril and social urgency: What if our civilization collapsed tomorrow? What if we were the agents of our own extinction? His works preserve traces of a materialistic era where objects gained a sacred status, reduced to image and appearance.
He sculpts in Saint-Leu stone, a limestone historically used for Paris’s most iconic monuments—Louvre, Versailles, Palais Bourbon, Invalides—thus anchoring his vision of decline within a material that once symbolized grandeur and permanence.
