Information about the artist: Tony Frank (b. 1945) is a French photographer who began his career in the 1960s. He became one of the leading photographers for Salut les Copains—the iconic magazine capturing a generation—and later for Hit Magazine until 1975. He then joined the Sygma-Corbis agency, contributing to publications such as Paris-Match, Gala, and VSD, while also creating CD covers and posters for major recording labels.

As Johnny Hallyday’s official photographer for many years, Frank captured some of the most iconic images of French and international pop and rock artists, including Serge Gainsbourg, Michel Polnareff, Julien Clerc, Véronique Sanson, Eddy Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Tina Turner, The Who, and Frank Zappa. His lens also documented celebrated actors and musicians such as Woody Allen, Louis Armstrong, Charles Aznavour, Jane Birkin, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, James Brown, Chèr, Dalida, Marianne Faithfull, and Jean-Luc Godard, establishing him as the definitive chronicler of pop culture and music over recent decades.
